May of MIC Miracles

Share

Throughout the month of May, eight local high schools competed in raising money through Papa John’s pizza purchases. The students collaborated in choosing two local charities that would receive the proceeds of the pizza sales. Adoptions of Indiana was blessed to be one of the organizations chosen, along with Happy Hollow Children’s Camp. We are extremely blessed by the generosity of Papa John’s and the Papa Cares Foundation for partnering with the MIC Network to develop the May of MIC Miracles campaign. On June 1st, representatives of our agency met with students at Warren Central High School for a check presentation ceremony.

Reflections from 13th Annual Birth Mothers’ Day Celebration

On May 4, 2017 Adoptions of Indiana hosted its 13th Birthmother’s Day Celebration.  This precious event is held each year to honor the women amongst us who chose to give their child the gift of life. We pay tribute to those who found a family to love their child despite their own, deep desire for motherhood and their own pain.  Each year, we pay tribute to women who selflessly chose adoption.

We were blessed this year by many willing sponsors who provided free or reduced services or donations to make the event possible.

As a custom, the women who attend are given time to reflect on the last year and years of their journey as birth mothers. We believe these experiences paint a picture of the impact that your partnership with our agency is having on the lives of those we serve. We would like to share some of those reflections with you.

“It is always a privilege to hear the stories of others, to see each other grow, to be with the new ladies and experience the rawness again. I am glad to be a part of this group, thankful for the support, and the opportunity to watch everyone grieve, persevere, succeed, cry, laugh, question, and hope.”

“This is my third birth mother’s day dinner, and I am very grateful to be here among such supportive women who can understand my grief in the realest way. It means so much to be celebrated as a birth mother and to celebrate these other strong, courageous women who have made the same selfless sacrifice.”

“The older I get, the more I appreciate & admire what birthmoms are all about. Live strong & confidently, because you’ve given more than many people ever will!” – A Birthmom’s Husband

“It’s good to know that I’m not alone. Many of the feelings felt right now by me are shared by these women. It’s great to know that we are celebrated and all have one thing in common – we love our children so much that we want to give them better than we can offer. Thank you for everything you do.”

Providing options counseling and expansive services to women facing a crisis pregnancy is core to the mission of Adoptions of Indiana. As a nonprofit organization, Adoptions of Indiana mobilizes donations to provide for the needs of these women, regardless of their choice to parent or make an adoption plan for their child. We hope that hearing from these women provides a basis for understanding the far-reaching impact of your support.  To find out more about how you can support these women, visit : This page
