Nid & Abby

Hello and welcome to our world! Thank you for taking the time to peek into our lives and learn about us. We’re Nid and Abby, a dynamic duo that has been married since 2015. We’re not only soulmates; we’re best friends who’ve been on this incredible adventure together for over 11 years. Nid brings her expertise in leadership to the corporate world as an executive in Human Resources, but her heart truly sings when she’s captivating audiences as a public speaker across Mexico and the U.S. Meanwhile, Abby pours her passion into shaping future educators as a professor at a local college. When we’re not working, you can find us exploring new places, savoring diverse cuisines, or simply having fun in each other’s company.  We are excited about growing our family and are bursting with love in welcoming a little one and look forward to the wonderful journey ahead.

This is Nid. Let’s talk about my wife, Abby:

Let me tell you about the amazing woman I share my life with. Abby is not just my wife; she’s my rock, my inspiration. Her intelligence, wit, and magnetic personality draw people to her like moths to a flame. She is one of the best examples of compassion and strength, always pushing boundaries while staying true to herself. Abby’s love for nature, animals, and dance is infectious, and her adventurous spirit keeps life exciting. Abby thrives on learning and experiencing new things, flavors, music, places, knowledge, and new ideas. She is always willing (and pushes herself) to step out of her comfort zone to grow and learn.

Abby’s warmth and expertise with children light up every room! With 18 years of elementary teaching and a background in daycare, she possesses a rare blend of affection, discipline, and clear boundaries that make children adore her. Abby’s deep self-knowledge shines through in her nurturing approach, ensuring she’s not just a teacher, but a lifelong mentor to every child she meets. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, offering extra tutoring, celebrating achievements with high-fives, and giving heartfelt encouragement and rewards.

Witnessing her interactions with students, our nephews, and nieces—whether she’s speaking their language, engaging in creative projects, or playing inclusively—fills me with immense excitement about co-parenting. Abby is not only ready to be an incredible mom; she’s a role model who elevates every moment with her boundless energy and love. We can’t wait to welcome a child into our joy-filled home and watch them thrive under Abby’s strengths in our care.

Abby here. Let me tell you about my wife, Nid:

I feel incredibly fortunate to have found such an amazing human being. Nid’s kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support mean the world to me. She’s the perfect blend of humor, smarts, and heart, always ready to dive into new experiences and share her infectious zest for life.I appreciate all of her qualities, but one I appreciate the most is her thoughtfulness – her appreciation and willingness to make anything into a celebration.

Besides her successful professional career, she is a very active member of the community by serving on boards, and leading committees. She has a special gift for bringing the best out in people, she leans in with curiosity versus judgment, is very inquisitive, and encourages people to ask themselves questions to come to solutions by themselves rather than offer advice and I see that characteristic being transferable as a parent. She is incredibly playful, and I love our adventures together. I can picture her building forts out of blankets, helping with all the creative projects at school, and coaching our children. I can’t wait to parent together with the love of my life!

A Fun-Loving Couple:

We’re all about embracing life’s little joys, whether it’s belting out show tunes at musicals, indulging in movie marathons, traveling the world, or taking road trips over a long weekend, playing outdoors, and losing ourselves in the rhythm of live music. Our favorite moments, though, are spent at home, playing board games, working on projects in the backyard, decorating for the holidays, baking some good family recipes, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We have a few family traditions and some of our own that we have created during our relationship. We particularly enjoy making care packages for the homeless, preparing for Trick-or-Treaters in our neighborhood, walking the Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning, celebrating Friendsgiving, Christmas with Abby’s parents, and ringing the new year with Nid’s family (which often includes karaoke).

In decision-making, we complement and balance each other’s viewpoints: Nid tends to be more adventurous and very practical, while Abby approaches major decisions with prudence and empathy/compassion. We have lived through some challenging situations as a family and have always come out stronger and closer as a result. We form an exceptional team.

We can see ourselves being the biggest cheerleaders to a little one in supporting whatever they want to pursue, whether it is sports, arts, or anything else.

Our Crew:

Family and friends hold a special place in our hearts, scattered across states, but always close at heart. We’ve found creative ways to stay connected, using technology to bridge the distance and visit each other often. We cherish diversity, traditions, and faith, and we’re committed to creating a nurturing environment where a little one can thrive.

Currently, Abby’s parents are living with us. They came from Texas this spring with two small dogs, and are making plans to stay in Indy. They are excited, as well as Nid’s parents, to become grandparents and cannot wait to shower a little one with love and affection.

There is No Place Like Home:

Centrally located in Indiana, our cozy home sits on a quiet lot surrounded by trees and a spacious backyard where we like to grill on the weekends. We have a small rose garden in front of our house and a lot of beautiful native flowers, plants, and bushes where many birds make their home. We love our quiet and diverse neighborhood. You can count on seeing people taking daily walks, walking their dogs, and children riding their bicycles.

We are blessed to live close to a park and a recreational center which we frequent often. We’re also just a short drive away from museums, art centers, parks, cultural spots, and good and varied places to grab a bite to eat.

Mom and Mama:

The little one will be provided with a loving, safe, and stable home surrounded by our close-knit circle of family and friends. With two mothers, the baby will experience the unwavering bond of our love for each other and them, creating a strong sense of family. We will nurture a baby with kindness, love, patience, and respect, ensuring they always understand their worth. They will always know that every decision made for them was a decision made with love.

We’re thrilled about the prospect of welcoming a sweet baby into our lives! Abby plans to take a break from teaching for a couple of years to focus on the baby’s early stage, while Nid will take parental leave at work for a few months. Both of us will be very involved in the baby’s care and everyday needs, and form the very important bond with the little one.

We’ll ensure the baby has plenty of opportunities to socialize by attending classes and playdates, but we’re not planning on full days of daycare.

To the incredible expectant/birth mother considering us as the adoptive parents for your child:

Your decision is one of incredible courage and boundless love. We honor and respect you, and if you choose us, we will honor and cherish this child every single day. They will be loved unconditionally, and we will be forever grateful for the gift of parenthood.

We’re ready to embark on the most extraordinary journey of all as parents. Our hearts are open, our arms are ready, and we can’t wait to welcome a precious little one into our loving embrace.
We will provide a safe, stable, and loving home surrounded by family and friends. We will raise this little one with kindness, love, patience, and respect, to demonstrate their worth. They will always know that every decision made for them is a decision based on love.

We strongly believe in the importance of the child knowing and maintaining a relationship with their birth family throughout their life. It’s crucial to us that we’re the right match for you if you decide to entrust us with the adoption of your child into our family.

Thank you for considering us to be a part of your child’s story. We’re honored and humbled by the opportunity to share our lives and our love with a beautiful soul yet to join our family.
We hope to meet you! But whatever your decision is, we are thinking of you, commend you for your courage, and wish you the best for the journey ahead.

Warmest wishes,
Nid & Abby

  • I love to dance! My love for dancing started by watching Fred and Ginger musicals and then many other classic musicals. I was the captain of my high school drill team and as an adult, I learned tap and jazz. Currently, I’m taking belly dance classes.
  • I love animals! Growing up I had hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, many cats, and dogs. But Grizzly, our miniature Poodle of 16 years, was my first fur baby as an adult. He crossed the rainbow bridge last November and we miss him very much.
  • Nature is my thing. I love being outside, bird-watching, and breathing fresh air.
  • I love fall and everything that it brings. To me, it signifies the beginning of football season (Go Cowboys!), pumpkin spice everything, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. And eventually the first snow, winter, and Christmas! I just love decorating for the holidays!

  • I love buttery movie-theater popcorn and have been known to drive to the theater just for the popcorn, but then go home to watch a movie!
