Hi! We are Nick, Paige, and Beckett. Thanks for taking the time to get to know us! We live in Indiana, along with our two dogs, Sophie and Jax, and two cats, Lila and Oliver. We’ve been together for 16 years, married for 10. Beckett joined our family through adoption back in 2020. Nick works full-time (fully remote!) as a supply chain analyst from his office in our home.; he basically lives in Excel and runs numbers all day long – he’s super smart! Paige works part-time as a Registered Nurse for a family medical practice, providing care and support to patients of all ages. Beckett is a very active, silly, and playful 5 year old who LOVES the outdoors.
As a family, we love to go for walks and bike rides through the neighborhood, play in our backyard (yes, including the pups!), and sit down for dinner as a family to chat about our day. Every night ends with some form of wrestling match and goodnight story under a galaxy light in Beckett’s room before bed. Our family is fortunate to have a larger cousin crew as Nick is one of four siblings and everyone has children. There are a total of 8 cousins ranging from ages 5 months to almost 6 years old, and one on the way! Getting together at Nana and Papaw’s house is always full of chaos in the absolute best form of giggles and little feet running around.
Our relationship started 16 years ago as sophomores in high school. Paige was attracted to Nick’s sincere friendship, thoughtfulness, and humor. Nick was attracted to Paige’s caring heart and sense of calm he feels when he’s around her. Nick proposed in 2013 at a family friend’s lake house, a place we loved to enjoy together. We were married 2 years later! Our life has only gotten more fun and exciting since Beckett was adopted. He is such a funny, adventurous, and smart little boy who is always wanting to learn and is constantly on the move. He gets so excited when Nick is done with work for the day, so they can play nerf battles or go outside and run around.

Paige is my best friend and the love of my life. Every day with her is an absolute blessing. She has such a caring heart and she brings a calmness that makes me feel safe and secure. Because she worked in the NICU, she has this fierce passion to care for children/infants, which has crossed over into her role as a mother. She only wants the best for everyone around her and will help in any way she can. She makes me feel just as loved as 16 years ago, and I am so thankful that I have her by my side. I know she will love another child just as much and be such a good mother to them as she is to our son.

Nick is the most thoughtful person I know. He is always thinking about others and how they feel in that moment, often putting their needs before his own. This has absolutely crossed over into his role as a father, and I cannot wait to see it reflected with another child. He always makes me laugh and reminds me to live life to the fullest. He genuinely cares for others and brings out the best in everyone. Even after these 16 years together, he still looks at me the same way and reminds me how much I am loved. He loves adventures just as much as I do and is always up for trying new things. I am so blessed to have him as my sidekick on this journey called life.
About Beckett
Beckett is an incredibly sweet, hilarious, and adventurous 5 year old. He loves to be outside, whether he’s looking for bugs or running around with his dogs. Any chance he can be in the water, he’s there swimming and doing flips like a little fish! He also loves music and will sing and dance any chance he gets. Beckett loves to spend time with his cousins as well as his classmates at school. He is very loving and gentle with his baby cousins, so we have no doubt he will be a great big brother!
Family & Friends
We are beyond blessed to have a great support system of family and friends. We are fortunate that both our families live locally, and we are able to see them and spend quality time with them often. Nick is very close with his siblings, so we spend a lot of time with them, his parents, and his nieces and nephews. We love to have play dates with the kids, since they are all similar ages – having dinners together, going to sporting events, and playing at the park. They have been nothing but supportive in our open adoption with Beckett’s first family and cannot wait to love on another little one!
Some of our friends we’ve known since grade school and others we have met through work and our community. Our closest set of friends have a four year old daughter who Beckett really enjoys playing with. All of our friends have also been incredibly supportive throughout our entire adoption journey and cannot wait for another little love to play with.
Our Community
Our neighborhood is very safe and kid-friendly. We have a variety of elderly and younger children, and our neighbors are all wonderful! Many kids like to ride their bikes or play in their front yards without any worries. Our community is a place where people also enjoy walking their dogs.
We love our home; it’s filled with lots of love and LOTS of toys! Beckett even has his own gymnastics bar in the basement, where he loves to practice his flips. Our home has four bedrooms, so there’s plenty of room for our family to grow. We specifically chose this house and neighborhood because of the community as well as the top rated schools. We were both fortunate enough to attend this same school system growing up and wanted this for our future children. In addition, our house is a very close drive to many shops, restaurants, and the zoo! There are several nearby neighborhood parks and paths, as well as the library where we love to take Beckett.
Why Adoption
Through unfortunate circumstances, we have not been able to have children biologically, but we could not be more grateful for the path that has led us to adoption. Growing up with siblings and larger families, we both want to be able to give Beckett the experience of another sibling as well!
Values and Parenting
One of the biggest parenting values/lessons we have been instilling in Beckett is the importance of being a good person and being kind to everyone. Through the seasons of life, our parenting style will adapt to Beckett’s specific needs at the time, but this value will hold true for a lifetime. We are not strict in our parenting style; we do make sure to always stay in tune with Beckett’s needs and emotions, especially now that he has started school. School is a completely new life experience, and we want to make sure he has the tools to handle it. Our main goal is to provide a healthy environment where a child can learn, grow as a person, maybe make mistakes but learn from them, and be the best version of themselves.
Openness
We believe having an open adoption benefits everyone involved. We are fortunate to have an open adoption with Beckett’s birth mother and father. We text and plan at least quarterly visits with them. We understand that openness can vary depending on many factors and may change and evolve over time. We do not expect or need this adoption to be identical to our first, but we hope to build a connection with a child’s birth family. We see a baby’s birth family as part of our family, an extension if you will. Most importantly, we want to be supportive in whatever that connection may look like and honor your comfort level and wishes.
