Nina & Greg

Hi there! We are Greg and Nina. We are both in our mid-30’s, even though it feels like we’re still 25. We have known each other for almost our entire lives and couldn’t imagine growing old with anyone else. We have been together for 14 years and married for 8.

Nina is an accountant and loves crunching those numbers. Greg is a railroad police officer and makes that uniform look good. Greg considers his job as a family business – his grandpa drove trains for the railroad, and his dad was a police officer. As someone who lives and breathes trains, Greg considers watching them every day as a nice perk. Even though we love our jobs, we work to live. We don’t live to work!

We love to spend time with our beautiful dog, travel, exercise, go to concerts, and take part in any fun experience we can find. One of our recent yearly traditions is attending a summer music festival called Riot Fest with Greg’s brother and his wife. Nothing beats belting out your favorite songs under the hot sun! We are definitely foodies and would consider food as our love language. Nina loves making Filipino food, including pancit and adobo. We also love trying out new restaurants in the area – our current obsession is Mediterranean food!

Greg

  • I am actually Greg II and love the fact that I share my name with my dad. I may be the second Greg, but I’ll always be my mom’s #1 Greg!
  • I just became an uncle, with more on the way! My brother and his wife welcomed their first child in February 2026. My other brother and his wife will also be welcoming their first child in August 2026.
  • I come from a law enforcement family. In addition to my dad being a police officer, my younger brother is also a cop and my cousin is a Federal Postal Inspector.
  • My grandpa was an avid model railroader and had a fairly large O scale model train layout. I’m keeping that tradition alive with my “reasonable” HO scale model train layout. Overall, it only takes up about 80% of our basement, LOL. I can’t wait to share my trains with a child and share my passion for railroading!
  • I have visited 26 states and 12 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. I love to travel and hope to add many more countries to my list. Without a doubt, a child in our family will be a frequent flyer before their 8th birthday!
  • I have competed in multiple sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, including the First Responder National Championship last spring.
  •  I am currently training for my first half Iron Man triathlon, which is a total of 70.3 miles (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run).
  • I am fairly handy around the house and take pride in the fact that I tackled most of our renovations. I grew up helping my dad renovate my childhood home and learned almost all of my skills from him (with a little help from YouTube). I’m sure that a child will grow up holding the flashlight for me, just like I did for my dad!
  • I enjoy cooking and grilling. We got a smoker grill several years ago, and I regularly make smoked meats for dinner.
  • Growing up, my household chore was cleaning the bathroom. As an adult, I’m still in charge of cleaning the bathroom… Even though I still hate it, LOL!

Nina

  • I am a child of immigrant parents, who both were from the Philippines.
  • Growing up, I was surrounded by strong and nurturing women. In addition to my parents, my Lola (grandma) helped raise me. At the age of 11, a few years after my mom passed away, my stepmom took me in as her own child, further validating blood doesn’t define family.
  • I am a huge fan of the Foo Fighters, and I’ve attended at least 15 concerts.
  • I enjoy reading on the front porch. The most recent book I read was The Wedding People.
  • Greg motivated me to run my first 5K in 2023, and I became addicted! I try to participate in as many 5K races in the area with Greg.
  • In my free time, I make homemade bar soap which I give away to family and friends as gifts.
  • Growing up, I didn’t have any pets. Now, I am a hardcore dog mom!
  • I didn’t always want to be an accountant. In college, I wanted to be in the computer science field, but stumbled upon accounting and fell in love with it.
  • As a kid, I watched a ton of Disney movies and shared that with my cousins. As an adult, I would love to watch my favorite childhood movies with a future child.
  • My favorite genre of music is pop-punk. I grew up listening to Blink-182, Green Day, and New Found Glory. In fact, I even traveled to another county to see a concert.

Miss Megan

  • I have 8 dog cousins.
  • My parents may think I hog the bed, but I truly just love snuggles.
  • I enjoy walking around the neighborhood with my parents.
  • Taking a bath isn’t my favorite, but I tolerate it…
  • I love meeting new people, and I will always welcome you in my home. I can’t wait to meet my new baby brother or sister!
