Austin & Lindsay

We met where all love blossoms, high school freshman PE class. We became fast friends immediately after meeting, started dating in 2010, and have been together from that day on.  We have been married since 2020 and since being married have completely remodeled our home which was originally built in 1902. We are best friends and are ready to grow our family through adoption, adding more laughter, joy, and love. Lindsay works as a Hospitalist Physician Assistant; she is thoughtful, kind, and loves helping others. Austin has his own business as a builder/remodeler; he is incredibly patient, detailed, and loving. We have two dogs and two cats. Zevah and Junie are both Italian Greyhounds who you can almost always find snuggling with each other under a blanket on the couch. Pepper is a medium/long haired cat that was a foster fail from Lindsay’s first batch of foster kittens; he purrs constantly and loves ice cream. Ivy Cat is an all black house panther who is the best biscuit maker and bird watcher. One unique fact about our family is that we enjoy all kinds of sports! Lindsay grew up watching the Indiana Pacers with her dad, and Austin grew up watching the Michigan Wolverines with his dad. We are huge NBA, NFL, College Football, and Premier League fans, and we have even started to enjoy Curling!

Lindsay

  • I love hip-hop and rap music and grew up listening to it with my dad. I have gone to multiple Drake concerts, and once even got a shout out from him.
  • In my free time, I love working with the local animal shelter as a kitten foster. Our cat Pepper turns into the ultimate dad towards each little kitten he meets and loves to teach them how to be a cat.
  • I love reading in my spare time. I mostly read nonfiction books about science, animals, and nature.
  • I am a big fan of the NBA! I am a huge Indiana Pacers fan and feel like we were supposed to win it all last year. #GoCers
  • I am very competitive and grew up playing a ton of sports: tennis, volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
  • I broke my femurs 3 times and had a total of 12 surgeries throughout high school and college after being diagnosed with Miserable Malalignment Syndrome. While the entire process was painful, going through everything made me mentally tough and allowed me to realize I can face any challenge in life. My determination is one of my greatest attributes.
  • One of my silly goals in life is to feed crows enough times that they befriend me and bring me gifts. Crows are incredibly intelligent and will sometimes bring items to humans that feed them.
  • While waiting for my new job to start at the hospital, I worked as a substitute teacher in my free time. On my first day, I had to run after a student that threw food at another kid in the lunchroom.
  • I love to paint. Before deciding to go to school for biology/chemistry, I almost went for art; I think it is so important to exercise both the right and left brain.
  • Every change of season, my mom and I plant flowers in the window boxes Austin built me for my birthday. It makes me so happy filling them with plants, greenery, and lots of colorful blooms. Maybe I can pass this down to a child someday

Austin

  • I once got locked inside the Notre Dame football stadium on a school field trip.
  • Both of my late grandfathers were my role models. They helped to influence my strong work ethic and love of sports! They provided strong examples of what good friends/husbands look like.
  • I really enjoy the video game League of Legends and specifically play the Jungle role.
  • I am extremely detail- This works out to be a strength of mine in the type of carpentry/construction work that I do. It helps me put that extra special touch on every project!
  • When I was a child, I enjoyed cleaning and detailing so much that I told people I wanted to work for Mr. Clean when I grew up.
  • I have climbed Mt. Rainier multiple times. Mt. Rainier is the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states and is located in Washington state. It is beautiful! It takes anywhere from 2-6 days to summit depending on weather and mountain conditions.
  • One of my hobbies is enjoying the world of at-home e I like nerding out on different coffees, making espresso drinks, and learning the art/science of a great extraction!
  • I placed 129th in a half marathon race that had over 10,000 runners in it!
  • I really love architecture, specifically learning about historical buildings and the methods with which they were built. I also love keeping up with how others in my field are building differently today through social media.
  • According to Spotify, in 2025 I was the 125 top listener in the world for the EDM artist named Mitis.
  • I really enjoy listening to podcasts and learning via this medium! Most days when I am working by myself, I will listen to 2-3 pods on anything from construction, investing, training, history, politics, and many other topics!

Ivy Cat

  • My family calls me an all black house panther. I love to lurk behind my mom’s house plants and pretend I am in the jungle.
  • My favorite pastime is watching birds and chirping at them from the window.
  • I refuse water out of a bowl, it must be from a fountain or faucet.
  • I am a professional biscuit maker, and every morning I wake up early to make biscuits next to my parents while they’re in bed.
  • One time when my dad was fixing my house, I got stuck in a vent and he had to rescue me by following my meows vent-to-vent to pinpoint my location.

Pepperdine The Feline

  • I was the first foster fail of the many kittens to stay at my parents’ house; now I teach all the newcomers how to “cat.”
  • The only reason mom was allowed to keep me is because she let dad go climb a mountain… Someplace called Rainier?
  • I have beautiful, medium length hair and a fluffy “featherduster” tail.
  • My favorite time of the day is when dad eats ice cream before bed and gives me the last spoonful.
  • I am the gentlest and most zen boy you’ll ever meet.

Zevah Louise

  • I am a 9 year old Italian Greyhound who must always be next to a human for warmth and love.
  • Z, Mamas, Lil’ Almond Head, and ZZ are some of the names I respond to.
  • In the winter I have to wear outfits in order to tolerate the weather. I do have matching ones with my sister, June.
  • I love people; they are my favorite!
  • Life is better with a heated blanket and a peanut butter treat.
  • Squirrels are public enemy number 1, and I will notify my family if one is approaching.

Junie B

  • I am a 6 year old Italian Greyhound. I have been told I am the sweetest.
  • My name is June, but I also go by Junie, Junie Junes, Junie B, Brown Cow, and Juuuuune.
  • I was named after my mom’s favorite childhood book character, Junie B. Jones.
  • I became a part of the family when I was 6 months old. Some friendly people from the Indiana Italian Greyhound Rescue helped me before I met mom and dad.
  • Being that I am a delicate gal, I did end up getting a metal plate in my leg after breaking my leg when I was a pup. My cast was pink.
