KENNY AND KRISTIN
We met 9 years ago at a friend’s gathering my husband was having at his apartment. It was that total love at first sitting from across the room thing.
At the time we both were dating other people, but after a few months we were both single and found our way back to each other. We both admitted that initial meeting was all it took, we were immediately taken by each other.
We struggled for many years with infertility and further complicating health risks made becoming pregnant unrealistic. We currently spend a ton of time with a darling 2 1/2 year old that we get the honor to call our God daughter.
We enjoy spending most of our time being doing projects around the house or working outside in our garden and landscaping. We do A LOT of camping and are kind of nature nuts, for lack of a better word. We love taking walks and hiking, riding our bikes, enjoying time with friends and family and just simply hanging out on the couch watching a good movie.
We value hard work, compassion & love, emphasize education (every moment is an opportunity to learn), commitment and just overall conduct ourselves in the manner of “do unto others as you have them do unto you.”
Kristin is beautiful inside and out! I could not ask for a better partner in life. She is a Physical Therapy Assistant at an outpatient therapy clinic. She loves working in pediatrics, and as a couple, we volunteer for 321 Go Kids PT and Victory Lane Camp for families and children living with disabilities. Before working in physical therapy she was a Cosmetologist and Esthetician for 10 years working behind the chair doing hair and managing salons across Indianapolis. Kristin is very artsy, outdoorsy, and musically driven. She loves to dig in the dirt, learn about sciences and history and enjoys staying active outside when the weather permits, and walking in the rain to jump in the puddles is a favorite! She is kind of a nerd when it comes to Star Wars, Batman and the super hero universe; imagination, she believes is important along with enjoying the simple little things life has to offer. I know that she will be a fun and involved mom. She is looking forward to making volcanoes, window crystals and other silly fun stuff because she does it now without kids! She is so awesome with our God-daughter, loving on her and encouraging her to explore her surroundings. Kristin has such a huge heart and I can’t wait to parent with her.
Kenny is my best friend and such a fun-loving, independent, hard-working guy. I’m thankful to have him by my side! After years of working construction, food service and bar tending, he went back to school and graduated from the Kelley School of Business. He is currently an independent consultant/adjustor and loves his work and the flexibility of his schedule. Kenny has a heart of gold for children and plays just as hard as the kids around him, mainly because he is just a huge kid himself still (well we both are, it keeps life fun!) He can’t live without music and something to build or do with his hands. Also, he is very passionate about earth & nature and especially frogs and lizards! Kenny is the math wizard in our home and has a true entrepreneur spirit. He loves spending with our God daughter playing and going on adventures! I know that he will be a very involved dad who encourages a little one to pursue all their passions and live life to the fullest!
We live east of Indianapolis and are in an awesome school district and diverse neighborhood. Our home was bought as a fixer upper and is 104 years old this year. It is still a work in progress which is fun! We have a full- sized fenced in back yard with a swing set for our God-daughter and future children. We have a large front porch where we spend most of our spring and summer time and fire pit in the back yard for fall days and grill outs. We also have two dogs; they are 8 year old litter mates, blue/red heeler, and shepherd mutts, named Milan and Lucy. They are fantastic dogs, very well behaved, and love to be around people and kids. We have a 3 year old Calico cat name Rooney; she is sweet and playful. The newest member of our fun family is a bearded dragon lizard! We have an open policy at our home that all our friends and family are welcome.
Kristin- I have a single mother who is jello for kids. My dad is married to Diane, who has two adult children that we spend all holidays with, a sister and brother-in-law that live near to coast in Florida and are expecting their first little one this year (we visit the ocean as much as possible).
Kenny- Along with my mom and dad, I have two brothers and a sister who all are married. My sister is expecting her first child this year as well which will add to 5 grandchildren already in his family; ages range from 3, 12, 13, 15 & 16. My mom and dad participates with Safe Families and open their home to any child in need. We have a lovely family full of love, support and fun! We both feel very blessed and love that one day we can bring a child into this amazing family thing we have going on. They are excited that we are pursuing adoption! We appreciate the opportunity to share a little about us-we would love to meet and get to know you!
