BETH AND STEVE
Hello! We are Steve and Beth- two teachers that met online (on Match.com before it was the cool thing to do). A simple email developed into a 10-year marriage and over 12 years of great friendship. Today we are back online to meet you to form a supportive, open adoption.
Honest, open, loyal and fun are how we describe ourselves as a couple. We enjoy spending time together enjoying new restaurants, taking short road trips, exploring different cities and parks, hanging out with family, and when the weather is not favorable we enjoy watching movies or binge-watching our favorite shows.
Steve was Beth’s first date and Beth was Steve’s last. We talked online and via the phone for over a month. After a month we finally had our first date at Outback Steakhouse. The rest, as they say, is history. We love each other deeply and still take our wedding vows seriously. We continuously work to grow closer and on our relationship. We love to laugh, tell jokes, and of course, laugh at each other. If you can’t laugh at yourself who can you laugh at? We are similar in our teaching approaches and enjoy making learning fun and innovative for our students. Our marriage continues to be fun and exciting because we are fun and exciting!
BETH, BY STEVE
Beth is the most amazing partner anyone could ask for. She wakes up excited to tackle the day with a smile on her face. Beth has shown me so many amazing things like pumpkin patches, apple orchards, different zoos throughout the country, and really amazing ice cream shops. These are places that kids of all ages love to visit.
When Beth isn’t being amazing out on our adventures she continues her amazingness at home by being a kid at heart. She enjoys putting puzzles together, baking, playing video games, watching holiday themed movies, and having impromptu dance parties. Beth is someone that I can count on, depend on, and trust because she really does care about others and it shows. Her students adore her and she is invested in their learning. I know she will be an incredible mom as her life revolves around love and nurturing others. She is a lover and it shows in everything she does.
STEVE, BY BETH
Have you ever met someone that always follows through on what they say they are going to do, never drops the ball, and has a kind, unwavering heart? Me either-until I met Steve. Steve changed my life in so many ways. More than anything, he has opened my eyes to the beauty of nature and the little things in life. He turns bad situations into good ones, makes me laugh when I’m stressed out, and does little things daily to keep the spark alive in our relationship.
Steve is a natural when it comes to playing with kids. It is always fun to go visit our nieces and nephews and watch Steve interact with my family. From taking our 8 year old nephew to play video games, giving our 16 year old nephew driving tips, playing dolls and doing crafts with our 6 year old niece. He is always involved and having fun with kids in our family. It’s exciting to get a glimpse into the future of “Dad” Steve!
Our love story started on Match.com. Steve was Beth’s first date and Beth was Steve’s last. We talked online and via the phone for over a month. After a month we finally had our first day at Outback Steakhouse.
Family and traditions are incredibly important to us. While most of our family lives out of town, we travel frequently to see them. Both of our families are beyond excited to welcome a new addition to the family. More importantly they are ready to visit and welcome the baby upon joining our family. We know our 6 nieces and nephews are the most excited!
Our family traditions are awesome! We stay in Indianapolis for Thanksgiving and Steve cooks a feast. During this feast we all (even Lola gets her own plate) enjoy amazing food and are left stuffed! Beth visits her hometown the first weekend in December for a girls only weekend. We have a huge luncheon and gift exchange, spend the rest of the day shopping, and enjoy all of the women in the family. For Christmas, we go back to Beth’s hometown and wake up Christmas morning to Santa’s footprints and gifts under the tree. Beth’s mom cooks a huge breakfast for the entire family that travels every other year for the holidays. We stay at our home for New Years Eve and try our best to stay up until midnight. However, we usually fall asleep right before midnight and have to rewind the DVR in order to participate in the countdown!
Beth’s family goes on a vacation every year. Sixteen of us travel to one place and have an adventurous week of exploring and spending time together. While we love going on these vacations to fun places, the best part is being able to spend time together as a family. We cannot wait to bring a little one along on the next trip!
We are so excited to become parents. We hope to raise them to love and accept others, know the importance of working hard, always doing their best without taking life too seriously, and above all, to love themselves for who they are. We understand that life is tough for children, and we want to be our child’s cheerleaders in life, supporting their interests and passions, and being present with them in any struggles they experience. We have many friends/family who are parents and have gotten great tips from them too. We also want to know your hopes/dreams for this child.
OUR HOME, COMMUNITY AND LOLA!
Our home is in a quiet suburban neighborhood with many children, 5-star schools, and a park across the street. We looked at a lot of homes (76) before we found our forever home. We chose our home because it has a huge fenced in backyard, mature trees, and basketball hoop where Beth loves to school Steve. We have had a lot of fun decorating the nursery and preparing for our new family member. We love visiting the park across the street with Lola and can’t wait to take our baby there for walks and fun on the playground.
Lola is our 14 year old Maltese doghter. She has helped prepare us for being parents in many ways. We love spending time with Lola and spoiling her. We have given her the best life, even though she is getting older, she still acts like a puppy most days. We love her so much and can’t wait to introduce her to the baby! Lola is really looking forward to meeting our next family member so she can provide protection and snuggles as needed.
We will have a total of 14 weeks off to be home with a little one. We will then use a small, licensed, in home daycare. We plan to take two weeks off of work together after the birth of the baby then stagger our time off which will be great! One thing we love about the daycare is that the baby will be in a home with babies under the age of 1. Once the baby turns one, he or she will go to the toddler house. Our careers also provide us the opportunity to spend 14 additional weeks a year with our child since we have summers off!!
OUR PROMISE TO YOU
This year marks many things in our lives 10 years of marriage, our fur baby Lola’s 14th birthday, and the next chapter in our life. Our hope is to have an open and honest relationship with you. We promise to honor your wishes, respect you, and share our lives with you. We look forward to getting to know you and building a relationship that focuses on loving the child as much as possible.
